Brilliant post Lynn! I completely agree with your point about communication. I used to just get on with it when on my own at births - to me, it's part of the value of being alone with a woman. You work with a woman to get the baby out, stop the bleeding or whatever. It's so different as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) as the jargon goes. The woman is a passive receptacle of everything done to her - for the best of intentions. If I ever have another lecturing role, I'll share this article with student midwives.

Thank you Nicky - I was pleased with this conceptual thinking around breech. Of course because the NHS is always falling down on communication in incident reports etc it makes this aspect its priority rather than the women.
